ALL ABOUT US

“Come in a stranger and leave as a friend!”

My kennel is small and therefore I only breed 1-2 litters a year at most. I breed West German show line long coat German Shepherd's. At this time I am no longer breeding working line stock coats. All my breeding dogs are health tested prior to breeding. Their hips and elbows must pass OFA good or above for hips and normal for elbows or SV equivalent, DM tested, temperament tested, and genetic tested before I decide to breed them. The ethical age of the dog must be 2 before breeding.

My kennel is small in order to raise my dogs in my home as family. They are crate trained but once trusted they are allowed on my furniture or my bed. Most of my shepherds often choose to sleep on my bed.

I am a member of Pacific Coast Working Dog Club which is an IGP training club. We compete for titles in obedience, tracking, and protection. My daughter also is a member and all titles on my stock coat working line is because of her.

My puppies are best suited as pets, Service Dog, working homes, and other sport work titles. My litters are raised using the Puppy Culture program. I have found by using this program, puppies are more confident and already have a head start on learning impulse control, some obedience, and crate training. Puppy Culture practices are started within a few days of being born. Each week something new is added. Puppies also go through a few fear stages which is normal. One day they may have been confident with the same item that maybe the next day they fear. If this happens, I use a less intimidating article and build up their confidence slowly that way, then work them back up to where they were. Everything remains positive.

I do not place my puppies by appearances but rather by on individuals needs. I wouldn’t want to place a high drive puppy with an inexperienced handler or a lower drive pup in a working home. Therefore I do have an application that must be completed to help me place puppies.

My kennel name is from 2 dogs I’ve owned in the past and meant a lot to me. I wanted them to be a part of my program in some way and always remembered. Our kennel name means Kennel of the Gryphon Hunter. We are located 30 minutes north of Sacramento, CA.
